The Furies have returned, and the Enterprise finds itself at the gate of the invading force. Using a powerful mind-control weapon that incapacitates most of the crew, the invasion seems certain to succeed. To beat these foes, the crew must conquer their fears and make the battle a level playing field. When the opportunity to stop the Furies for good is presented, Picard must choose which crew member and friend to send on a suicide mission.
