The planets of Prastor and Distrel have been battling each other for centuries. Peace efforts have always failed, so when they declare a truce, the Enterprise is called to find out how the two sides settled their differences. When Kirk arrives on the planet, he is horrified to discover the architect of the peace is none other than Harry Mudd. Kirk must tread carefully, otherwise the war could start again, and the Enterprise could be caught in the crossfire.
