An ancient spacecraft lures the Enterprise on a one-way trip to destruction . . .

The Enterprise arrives at Tyrtaeus II to install a new library database, replacing the existing damaged one. The inhabitants blame Federation sloppiness for their livelihood being destroyed. While the crew tries to show the inhabitants the truth, a strange vessel shows up on sensors and appears to be heading directly toward the sun. To avoid further problems, the Enterprise heads to the star to seek answers.
